Ecotoxicology and environmental safety - research design and implementation. Traditional cultivation and enrichment of microorganisms capable of potential biodegradation of pesticides. Identification with molecular biological methods. Monitoring of their degradation dynamics under oxygenated and oxygen-limited conditions in vitro. The complex ecotoxicological assessment (acute and chronic cytotoxicity, endocrine disrupting effects) and bacterial biodetoxification of pesticides (pure compounds, formulations, co-formulants) and their mixtures. Determination of cocktail effects (antagonism, addition, synergism) of pesticides and using Combination Index method to decrease their ecological risk in the environment. The spatiotemporal biogeochemical monitoring of surface waters, sediments and the laboratory analysis of environmental samples including long term monitoring, analysis, and environmental risk assessment of xenobiotics (pesticides and pharmaceuticals).
