Bemutatkozás?

I’m Mothoa Lerato Emelda, a South African PhD student with a background in Agricultural Biotechnology, currently studying under the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship. My research focuses on bacteria that grow on microplastics in wastewater systems, where I explore their roles in biodegradation, biofilm formation, and antibiotic resistance.
I have experience in microbiology and molecular biology techniques such as MALDI-TOF, PCR, microbial culturing, and data analysis using SPSS. I’m passionate about understanding environmental challenges like microplastic pollution and finding sustainable, biology-based solutions.
Outside the lab, I enjoy running, travelling, and learning new languages. I love exploring new cultures and experiences, which keeps me curious and inspired both personally and academically.
