Jovanka Lukic is a molecular biologist with 15+ years of research at the microbiota-host interface, based on in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo system investigation, enterocytes, cardiomiocytes, keratinocytes, fibroblast cell cultures, intestinal explants, animal models of infective and immune diseases. She obtained her PhD degree from the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade. She is currently focused on aquaculture research, mainly pike-perch and largemouth bass larviculture. Her skill portfolio comprises bacterial transformation, eukaryotic cell transfection, flow cytometry, Western blot, immunofluorescence, histology, traditional microbiology, qPCR, microbiome sequencing and bioinformatics. She combines her knowledge in machine learning with the microbiome research, seeking to understand within microbiome and microbiome-host interactions. She is building new skills through participating in cross-disciplinary international projects in the filed of fish and water microbiome research.
